About Me

bschlogocircled

I qualified as a medical practitioner in 1986 in Durban, South Africa, and thereafter practiced as a GP for more than 10 years.    I have been employed as a psychiatrist in the NHS since 2000. My experience includes the delivery of psychiatric services for the General Adult and  Geriatric population, as well as providing clinical input to a multidisciplinary Acute Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team.

lcchcrest_151_98My Medical Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis was obtained at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis in 2003, and I now practise hypnotherapy in Birmingham and the West Midlands area of the UK.  I am registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) , and I am also a Full Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH).

I value the use of complimentary therapies as an integral part of holistic treatment and my specific interest includes hypnotherapy for smoking cessation, anxiety states, panic attacks, phobias, grief reactions, pain control, confidence and self esteem issues, stress management, eating disorders, and physical symptoms including migraine and irritable bowel syndrome.

As a result of my vast clinical experience, I have gained significant insight into human thinking patterns and behaviour.
Therefore I have adopted a very personalised approach to therapy, and treatment is tailored to meet individual needs. Therapy is often available in the comfort of your own home.
